About
I grew up in Davis, California and moved with my family to McMinnville, Oregon my senior year in high school. I am very fond of my adopted state and completed college there; I've earned both a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. I am an inveterate tinkerer, always building or improving something. I also enjoy a variety of activities including camping, fishing, backpacking, brewing beer, reading, painting and playing the bass to name a few. I also enjoy some of the nerdier things in life: Magic, the Gathering, video games and board games.
Since graduation, I have been working as a HVAC engineer for Salas O'Brien Engineers in San Jose, California. There I spend much of my time performing field work, updating old drawings with existing conditions, designing HVAC systems, designing gas systems, creating documents for contractors, coordinating with contractors and working with customers to tailor designs to fit their needs.
I am very talented when it comes to product design, and am as good at working with customers as I am working with teammates. In a team, I usually take on a group maintenance role. I can be a traditional leader if the situation demands it, however I am much happier leading from behind the scenes. I am also excellent with CAD software; the way my mind works is ideal for working in CAD; I can pick up new CAD software easily in days if not hours. Other interests I have that I am skilled in are composites design, biomechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanical vibrations, numerical methods, programming and optimization to name a few.
