In order to replace a failing projector and pull-down screen setup, the Design Engineering Lab of Oregon State University opted for an array of TVs. The first design and manufacture allowed each TV to move individually, which resulted in misalignment of the TVs. I volunteered to do a redesign and opted for a hanging design that held all the TVs in a rigid configuration. I designed, manufactured and assembled the new design myself, though handing the structure took a good sized team to hoist. The design process involved navigating the politics between several prominent professors in the department, each with differing priorities and interests. The redesign was a successful and is now a feature of the Design Engineering Lab. In addition to the project's successful outcome, I completed significantly under-budget.
